Product description

Shorin Decorative Rug - a calm rhythm inspired by shōji

Shorin draws on the simplicity of Japanese shōji screens, with the same repeating proportions and divisions that have created a sense of calm and order in Japanese interiors for centuries. Here, however, the geometric grid has been transferred onto a form that gently extends beyond the classic rectangle, giving the rug its own slightly irregular outline.

Order with room for freedom

In Shorin, the regularity of the inner composition meets an irregular outer shape. These two seemingly opposing ideas come together to preserve the calm rhythm of shōji without turning it into a literal reproduction.

Depth through varied texture

Differences in pile height give Shorin a subtle but noticeable sense of depth. Up close, the structure is clearly visible, while from a distance it blends into a calm, consistent rhythm.

Handmade from 100% wool

The rug is handmade using the tufting technique from 100% New Zealand wool, creating a dense, pleasant surface regardless of the complexity of the pattern. The design was created in Europe.

Calm for the living room and home office

Shorin's minimalist, ordered character works well in a living room built around calm and simplicity, as well as in a home office where focus and a lack of visual clutter matter. Available in 140 x 200, 160 x 240, 200 x 300 and 300 x 400 cm.

Pillovely, for the moments when you truly feel at home.
